Google Profile Review

Where you land in the local map results, and how your listing looks when customers find you. A dozen checks to improve both.

40 minutes · PDF

  1. 1
    Is it claimed and verified?

Unclaimed, anyone (even a competitor) can suggest edits, and nothing else works until it is verified. Check for duplicate listings too.

  2. 2
    Service area or storefront?

A mobile trade should be a service-area business so your home address stays hidden; a shop is a storefront. List only the towns you actually serve.

  3. 3
Your primary category is the biggest lever here

The setting with the largest effect on which searches you show up in. Set it to the one thing you most want to be called about.

  4. 4
    Hours, including the awkward ones

Wrong hours send someone to a closed door. Confirm regular hours, set holiday hours, and reflect after-hours service honestly.

  5. 5
Photos: how many, and how recent?

Check the count and the newest date. Current, real photos of your trucks, team, and finished work read as active and trustworthy.

  6. 6
Reviews: how many, and how recent?

Note the count and the date of the newest one. Steady recent reviews matter more than a big old pile.

  7. 7
    Do you reply to them?

Reply to every review, good and bad. The audience is the next reader, not the reviewer, so stay calm and specific.

  8. 8
The questions section is gone, and what replaced it matters more

Google removed Q&A in Nov 2025 and now writes its own answers from your site, profile, and reviews. Publish the answers you want it to use.

  9. 9
    List your services

Fill the services section with plain-language descriptions. It helps you show up for specific searches and feeds those Google answers.

  10. 10
Check the link on your profile

Click your own link on a phone: does it load fast and land somewhere useful? Add your booking or request form link too.

  11. 11
    Post something, then keep posting

Almost no trades use profile posts. One every week or two, even a finished-job photo, keeps the listing looking alive.

  12. 12
    The incognito test

Search your service in a private window to see what a customer sees, not your logged-in view.
