Auto Service Opportunity Guide
Ten service-visit opportunities your team can raise as advice, not a sales pitch. Each one has the words to use, and the times to stay quiet.

- 1Cabin air filter
A musty air conditioning smell or weak airflow from the vents. Stay quiet if it was replaced in the last 12 months.
- 2Engine air filter
Dark or clogged at the oil change inspection, or due by mileage. Stay quiet if it looks clean and is within its interval.
- 3Wiper blades
Streaking, skipping, or cracked rubber. Stay quiet if the blades are wiping clean and were replaced recently.
- 4Battery test and replacement
A slow crank, a battery over three or four years old, or a weak reading on the tester. Stay quiet if it tests strong, whatever its age.
- 5Front brake pads at wear threshold
Pads down to the last few millimeters, or the wear indicator starting to squeal. Stay quiet if they are within spec.
- 6Coolant exchange
No cooling service in the history, or a test strip showing corrosion protection used up. Stay quiet if the strip reads healthy.
- 7Transmission fluid service
Fluid that is dark or smells burnt, or past the interval with no service history. Stay quiet if it is clean and within its interval.
- 8Serpentine belt
Visible cracking, glazing, or fraying, or still original past 60,000 to 90,000 miles. Stay quiet if it looks supple.
- 9Tire rotation and alignment check
Uneven tread wear, or 5,000 to 7,000 miles since the last rotation. Stay quiet if wear is even across all four tires.
- 10Headlight restoration
Cloudy or yellowed lenses noticed on the walkaround. Stay quiet if they are clear, or the customer already plans to replace the assemblies.
